Alison Croggon

Alison Croggan writes poetry, prose, criticism and texts for theatre. Her books of poetry include This is the Stone, (Penguin Books Australia), The Blue Gate (Black Pepper Press) and Mnemosyne (Wild Honey Press). Awards include the Anne Elder and Dame Mary Gilmore Prizes. Her theatre texts have been produced by companies across Australia. She was the 2000 Australia Council writer in residence at Cambridge University, UK, and edits the webzine Masthead. Previously she appeared at Poetry International, Royal Festival Hall. Attempts at Being was published by Salt in 2002 and The Common Flesh: New and Selected Poems was published by Arc Publications UK in 2003. Her young adult fantasy novels, the Pellinor series, are published in the UK by Walker Books. Part 1, The Gift, was shortlisted twice in the Aurealis Awards for Australian Speculative Fiction, and part 2, The Riddle, has just been released.
